Welcome to Westy's Recipes, a selection of recipes to help put love in your cooking! This is my collection of pork, chicken, turkey, beef, and vegetable dishes for home cooking in the oven or grilling on the barbecue. This is a site that I have put together that will excite your taste buds.
A variety of spices and sauces have been used in these dishes, so please don't expect a recipe to conform to authentic food requirements if it originates from your local area. To me, it's all about whether the food tastes good and not whether a dish meets requirements for being authentic or not. For example, I much prefer Tex-Mex dishes to what is considered "Authentic Mexican".
My feeling is that cuisine is always in a free-flow status and that influences from other parts of the world will always change recipes for your cooking needs (hopefully for the better).
This is a simple home cooking website with some really good food recipes, but don't expect a lot of flash. You are guaranteed no pop-up windows or anything of the sort.
You may notice that I have not included any portion sizes for any of my recipes. That is because I have no clue about what kind of appetites for food your friends or family have. Serving suggestions on any recipe that I have ever worked with have never helped me on how much to cook. It always comes down to who you are feeding. You have to make an estimated guess about who you are cooking for.
I will be growing the list of recipes as time permits and I would appreciate your feedback, so feel free to join me on Facebook and post your comments. The main suggestion is "put love in your cooking and always taste as you go". Many cooking disasters in the oven or on the barbecue could be avoided if people only taste as they go along and then adjust to what is needed. It's a lost home cooking art that our great grandmothers had. Enjoy your food!
